    Mental Health First Aid Course ~ Darwin ~ Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th April at the Darwin Sailing Club.
    You can become a Mental Health First Aider to support family, friends, colleagues and others and to have the knowledge , then this course is for you. This course is facilitated by Master Trainer Pauline Neil . More information in Flyer

  • Mates in Construction ASIST Training

    Mates in Construction will be holding an ASIST Training on Wednesday 15th March at Harry's Place. This training will equip individuals to become an ASIST worker. These workers can be compared to the first aid officer on site. ASIST workers will talk to a person contemplating suicide with the object of making this person “safe”. Using simple skills an ASIST worker will listen to the persons’ concerns and respond to them appropriately with the object of reaching a “contract” or a “safe plan” for the worker .......... read more

    In 2023, Suicide Prevention Australia will be celebrating the 20th Annual LiFE Awards recognising excellence in suicide prevention.
    This prestigious national event attracts diverse nominations with an interest in suicide prevention and support of those affected by suicide across Australia. A suicide prevention program is one that is implemented to address, prevent, or respond to suicidal behaviours and their impact on people, families, communities and the Australian population. Nominations can include business, industry, media, community, government, youth, research and medicine.

    Director & co-founder Lidia Di Lembo of SabrinasReach4Life was invited to do an interview on the ABC Radio Darwin's Jo Laverty morning session. Lidia also spoke of SabrinasReach4Life receiving a $20,000 grant from the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal (FRRR) to help local communities recognise what a developing mental health problem looks like, and how to help stop a mental health crisis leading to suicide.

    SabrinasReach4Life is pleased to announce that we have been successful in receiving a grant from the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal FRRR , Supporting Mental Health in rural communities.
    The In a Good Place program gives small remote, rural and regional communities across Australia the opportunity to access funds for a broad range of community-driven projects, services, activities or initiatives, which clearly and directly focus on strengthening mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable community members who are at risk of, or are experiencing, mental health issues and aims to support a range of approaches that are preventative or responsive in nature, reduce social isolation by increasing social participation and connectedness, and reduce stigma surrounding mental health by encouraging open discussion and supporting self-help-seeking.

    On the 24th of August Happy Days Stickers on behalf of SabrinasReach4life and Mates in Construction were invited to be presented with a cheque of $1300 from the Australian Institute of Architects at the Charles Darwin Centre in Darwin. The money raised was from a trivia night that was held in support of suicide awareness in our community. We thankyou for your donation and support.
