BBSSGNT had a Therapy dog session on the 6th of April with Mind Your Paws trainer Sharon with therapy dogs, Lucy 8years old (Rottweiler) & Jackson 18 months old (Labradoodle). Sharon mentioned that she starts training her dogs at 6mths old and introduces them to various scenarios. Sharon also mentioned that there is a difference between service dogs and therapy dogs. Service dogs are trained for specific areas, PTSD, seizures etc. Therapy dogs are trained for emotional wellbeing. Sharon visits schools, kindergartens, aged care facilities, outdoor events and other various groups. Thankyou Sharon for a great session.
