This support allows us to bring together our stakeholders, health representatives and key government officials to showcase the work being done in the mental health and suicide prevention realm and identify ways that we can work more collaboratively towards better outcomes.

StandBy is an Australian Government initiative, established in 2002 to meet the need for a coordinated community response to suicide.

StandBy is Australia’s leading suicide postvention program dedicated to assisting people and communities bereaved or impacted by suicide.

For another year, the NTPHN have come on board as Major Sponsors for the World Suicide Prevention Day forum.

This event is presented by Sabrina’s Reach4Life in partnership with key stakeholders in the mental health and suicide prevention space.

As the Northern Territory Primary Health Network (NT PHN), the organisation helps meet the needs and priorities of Territorians to improve health outcomes in primary health care. Their support is invaluable to us being able to present this event, cost effectively, to the sector.

Thank you so much for your support.

EVENT PARTNERS - NEAMI NATIONAL

Neami

Neami is a values-based, not-for-profit organisation providing mental health, homelessness and suicide prevention services. In the Northern Territory the organisation has been an event partner to present the 2022 World Suicide Prevention Day Forum.

In the past 12 months, NEAMI National, in partnership with Larrakia Nation and supported by Northern Territory PHN, established a Head to Health Centre in Darwin. Each Head to Health service is tailored to the needs of the local community and offers a combination of peer[1]led recovery and clinical support to provide a warm, welcoming and high-quality experience. Joe will speak to the importance of the Head to Health Centre and next steps for NEAMI National’s footprint in the Territory.

NTG – EVENT SUPPORTERS

NT Gov

In March 2022, The Commonwealth Government announced that it will invest $30.65 million, and the Territory will invest $13.25 million into mental health and suicide prevention support and services across the Northern Territory over the next five years.

In May this year, a new Minister for Mental health and Suicide Prevention portfolio was established within the Northern Territory Government and this was welcomed by the industry.

We are pleased the Northern Territory Government have been able to support the World Suicide Prevention Day forum and we look forward to working collaboratively and effectively to change the horrific statistics of suicide in the Northern Territory.
